Automatic English display

This blog implements finer-grained motion control than meets the eye. While the primary goal is technical improvement, so we won’t disclose every detail, we’ve actually made surprisingly detailed adjustments.

・Layout adjustments specific to iPhone
・Add multilingual menus
・Display a fixed banner at the end of articles

Of course, we control several other displays as well.

By the way, the feature I added the other day is “automatic English switching while preserving the hierarchy.” Originally, whenever an article was accessed from a non-Japanese environment, it would always display the top page.

(Automatically display English top)

Some visitors might find it inconvenient that the homepage loads instead of the article they want to see directly, preventing them from reaching the desired content. Therefore, we’ve changed the specification to display the target page in English while maintaining the original hierarchy. Ultimately, we customized it to behave as follows:

▼After change: Users other than Japanese

(Maintain the English version URL)

Before the change, there was a risk that search engine crawlers might misinterpret it, so we aimed for a natural transition that would feel as seamless as possible.

The visible parts aren’t the only content; the underlying mechanisms supporting the system are also crucial. However, be mindful that insufficient planning could backfire.

The automatic switching feature is currently disabled to improve page usability and enhance user experience. Please review this article as an implementation idea.
